Tech·Ed 2005 Europe
will take place July 5-10 in beautiful Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and INETA will have a huge presence through its participation in the Birds of a Feather (BOF) Sessions together with Culminis
(IT-Pro community). Birds of a Feather is your opportunity to meet other attendees with interests similar to yours. The sessions will be moderated by the Microsoft Tech·Ed 2005 Europe attendees and speakers.
Why am I writing this to you?
I am (again this year) responsible for INETA BOF sessions. My INETA fellow Tomislav Bronzin will help me with session moderation.
What is a Birds of a Feather session?
A Birds of a Feather session is a one-hour open, moderated discussion on any topic of great interest to Tech·Ed conference attendees. Anyone attending the conference can propose a topic. Birds of a Feather sessions are not presentations or panel discussions. There are no speakers and no slides. A microphone and whiteboard will be available, but there will be no projection equipment.
Is there any compensation for speakers?
Birds of a Feather session hosts receive our thanks and gratitude, however we are unable to provide complimentary conference passes or other compensation. You will be responsible for your own Tech·Ed 2005 conference registration, travel and other expenses. If your session is selected and you are unable to attend Tech·Ed, we will work with you to find an alternate host for the session.
Since the Tech·Ed audience is mixed (Developers and IT-Pros), Culminis will suggest 10 sessions and we will also suggest 10 sessions. These sessions will be scheduled in parallel with regular sessions:
So they should be max. 1h 15mins each. We will mix the sessions (INETA, Culminis, INETA …).
How to propose a topic?
Right now, I am driving the process to get the 10 session titles and abstracts. I am searching for very simple solution for submitting proposals. At the moment, I'll be more than happy to get your proposal by email. Here are the necessary fields:
Suggested Title (max. 250 chars)
Summary (at least 250 chars )
My email: Damir.Tomicic@ineta.org
As soon as Microsoft Tech·Ed content team approves the proposals, final selection and scheduling of the sessions will be done by Culminis and INETA. All submitters will be notified whether their session was accepted or declined.
Terms and conditions
By proposing a session you agree to host it and moderate the discussion at the conference. You do not have to be a subject matter expert in order to host a session. You have to have a genuine interest in the topic. You may propose more than one session, however preference may be given to allow more people the opportunity to lead.
If you have any questions or comments about Birds of a Feather sessions, please contact me.
And now - go and submit your proposals!
