Few funny things happened today at "business talk 2004" ... First, I was introduced to the public as a "Regional Director" for our "Region" (northern Franken, part of Bavaria, Germany), some kind of an local guru. Ooops... Second, manny people asked me the same question after my speech: "What the Hell is Microsoft Regional Director?!".. Oooops^2 ...
Well, Clemens wrote some things about the same issue already:
"... RDs are typically architects, technology consultants, educators and even people in CEO/CTO/CIO-equivalent positions, who have a broader perspective on technology. Another qualification shared by the RDs is that we're absolutely able and willing to wear a tie (when absolutely necessary), are not shy to get up on stage in front of 500 people to share our experiences (and do that very well) and are likewise not shy to give Microsoft more brutally honest feedback than they sometimes wish for -- and we do that quite often before you need to deal with things..."
Talking about my experiences with .NET from a CEO Perspective, I hope that I answered the question everyone wanted to know: "What is .NET?".. It's not Windows XP reloaded, neither Service Pack 2003b ... Despite my current monogamous relationship with C#, it's neither C#. Nope!! I could say, it's much more about components, tools, services ... and visions. Some of them already made true.
Last but not least ... I found today a very funny link: Eric Sink is Not a Legend!
